ou’ve planned out your photoshoot, you’ve found the perfect photographer, you’ve scheduled a date… but all of that felt easy compared to what comes next: “What do I wear?!”. Choosing the perfect outfit for your photoshoot doesn’t have to be a chore! Follow this easy guide to help you rock any style on your photoshoot day.

Dress to Impress!

Wear clothes that are clean, flattering, and somewhat timeless. You can’t go wrong with classics such as pastels, beiges, and darker colors like navy. Accessories can be fun, but make sure that your accessories don’t outshine you! Simple necklaces, headbands, and hats can make great accents without being too distracting. Don’t wear anything that you won’t be comfortable in! You’ll want to be able to pose during your shoot, so avoid clothing that’s too tight or restrictive, and wear shoes that you’ll be able to stand and move around in.

Coordinate.

When choosing your outfit, remember to consider what type of photoshoot you are doing and where the photoshoot will be held. Plan your style with the setting in mind. For example, if you plan for your shoot to take place in a busy city, it may be best to wear solid colors so that your clothing doesn’t provide another distraction in an already busy setting. You can still add some fun touches by wearing accessories or bringing small props.

If you’re doing a group photo scene, it’s important to coordinate! Everyone doesn’t need to wear the same outfit if that’s not your style, however avoid large prints or having stark contrasting colors. Make sure that you’re wearing the same style of clothing, don’t mix clothing types like bulky sweaters and slimming dresses in one photoshoot.

Show Your Style!

Remember that you want to enjoy these photos for years to come. While there’s nothing wrong with aiming for a classic look, don’t be afraid to show off some of your personality! This is where fun accessories or props can come into play. Talk to your photographer before your shoot if you want ideas on how to add individuality without overwhelming the shot.

That’s a Wrap!

While choosing an outfit may seem stressful, these tips will hopefully help you narrow down your perfect choice! Remember, you can’t go wrong with classic choices such as simple dresses, khaki pants or dark jeans, and pastel or navy shirts. Above all, remember to enjoy your photoshoot day, as you’re making memories that will last a lifetime!
